© Reuters. The Sao Paulo Stock Exchange interrupts negative streak but closes the week in red
Sao Paulo, Nov 20 (.) .- The index, the main benchmark of the Sao Paulo stock market, advanced this Friday by 0.59% and at the end of the week stood at 103,035 points, interrupting a negative streak of four sessions consecutive downwards, according to the consolidated data at the end of the day.
During the week, with the recess of the Monday holiday for the Day of the Proclamation of the Republic, the indicator accumulated a negative variation of 3.10%.
This Friday, the Brazilian market got rid of the external news and with few movements in the market it managed to overcome volatility and end the day in positive territory.
The São Paulo stock market this Friday scored a financial volume of 27,148 million reais (about 4,840 million dollars) and totaled almost 3.7 million transactions.
With some oscillations, the largest Latin American stock market by volume traded moved this Friday between a minimum score of 102,143 integers, when it lost 0.27%, and a maximum of 103,975 units, with a momentary jump of 1.51% .
After a decrease of 0.51% in the day on Thursday, in the midst of a climate of caution in the face of the parliamentary process of the fiscal maneuvers of the Brazilian Government to increase social spending in the electoral year of 2022, the indicator recovered this Friday 609 units to your cumulative score.
On a favorable day for telecommunications, the gains were led by the ordinary papers of Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional -CSN-, which climbed 7.98%, followed by the similar ones of Vivo -Telefónica Brasil- (+6.81%) and TIM Brasil (+ 5.15%).
Losses on the stock market were led by the ordinary shares of the computer company Locaweb (-4.26%), seconded by the unitary shares of the insurer SulAmérica (-3.40%) and those of the ordinary type of the trading platform electronic Meliuz Cash (-2.86%).
The most traded securities on the day were the preferential ones of the state oil company Petrobras (NYSE 🙂 (-1.66%).
In the foreign exchange market, the dollar appreciated 0.78% against the real and ended the last day of the week trading at 5,607 reais for purchase and 5,608 for sale at the Brazilian commercial exchange rate.
In the four sessions of the week, the US currency appreciated 2.71% compared to the Brazilian denomination.
