Sao Paulo, March 22 (.).- The Sao Paulo stock market advanced 0.96% this Tuesday and its index, a benchmark for the parquet, closed at 117,272 points, with which the Brazilian market renewed its maximum for the third consecutive time level for this 2022.
The Brazilian parquet thus chained its fourth consecutive rise and accompanied the optimism that prevailed in the main international markets, on a day that was driven by the banking sector and despite the losses accumulated by the large stocks.
In the foreign exchange market, the US dollar maintained its downward trend and depreciated 0.60% against the Brazilian real, to end the day quoted at 4.914 reais for purchase and sale at the commercial exchange rate, the lowest level for the “green ticket” in the country since June last year.
On the São Paulo stock exchange, the ordinary shares of the mining company Vale, which fell 2.24% and were also the ones that lost the most value today, and the preferred shares of the state oil company Petrobras (NYSE:), which lost 0.44% , were the most traded of the trading session.
The ordinary papers of the retail network Lojas Americanas led the biggest gains of the day, with a strong climb of 6.67%, followed by the ordinary papers of the energy company Eneva, which gained 6.65%, and the unitary ones of the Inter bank. , which were valued at 6.18%.
In addition to Vale (-2.24%), the preferred shares of the investment fund Bradespar also ended the day in negative territory, which fell by 1.81%, and the ordinary ones of the JBS meat company, which fell the same 1.81 %.
The volume of business on the Sao Paulo stock exchange exceeded 27,993 million reais (about 4,733 million dollars) on Tuesday, as a result of more than 4,506,992 financial transactions.
