Tservina Zvezda Belgrade, the Serbian “Red Star”, apologized on Friday to Milan and its striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic for racist abuse of the veteran Swedish star of Bosnian descent.
Serbian media reported that Ibrahimovic was insulted by a person sitting in the VIP booth of the “Red Star” stadium, and the (B92.net) website published an audio clip of these comments.
Tservina Zvezda said in a statement: “Tsarvina’s response strongly condemns the offensive chants of Zlatan Ibrahimovic during a European League match against Milan. The club has done everything in its power to organize this match at the highest level and we will not allow a barbaric person to harm the well-known hospitality in Serbia. With the authorities to identify the person involved in this matter, and we will insist on punishing him with the maximum penalty stipulated by law. Our behavior apologizes again to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and the club affirms that it will absolutely not tolerate such behavior in the future. “
