He said in a statement to NHK TV, “They informed me, that the capsule contains soil weighing about 5.4 grams, while the task was to collect 0.1 grams.” He pointed out that this is the result of the work of the entire team contributing to the “Hayabusa-2” project.
Yuichi Tsuda, the project supervisor from the Japanese space agency “JAXA”, had previously announced that black sand and gas had been discovered in the capsule, and that some grains of sand weighed 0.1 grams.
It is reported that Japan launched the probe “Hayabusa-2” to the asteroid Ryugu in 2014, which is 340 million kilometers from Earth and has a drop of about 900 meters.
Experts believe that the materials that will be discovered in the asteroid’s soil will help them solve the mystery of where water and organic elements appeared on Earth.
It is reported that the capsule with soil collected by the probe “Hayabusa 2” from the surface of the asteroid Ryugu landed in a desert in southern Australia on December 5, 2020 and then transferred to Japan.
