The Irish Philharmonic Orchestra will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the film Braveheart with “Heroes and Legends,” an afternoon concert of iconic movie music held at the historic Trim Castle on Saturday, August 9th. Part of the King John Summer Prom series, the event will take place under a fully-seated Big Top on the castle grounds, a primary filming location for the acclaimed movie.
Beginning at 2:30 PM, the concert will feature the orchestra under the baton of conductor Niall O’Sullivan. The program includes celebrated works from legendary composers such as John Williams, James Horner, Hans Zimmer, Howard Shore, and Ennio Morricone. The event will be presented by Simon Delaney and include a guest performance by singer Leah Barniville.
The performance aims to immerse the audience in the world of cinematic heroes through sweeping orchestral scores and grand symphonic themes. The historic setting of Trim Castle provides a unique backdrop, connecting the live music directly to its cinematic legacy.
As part of the anniversary celebration, concert ticket holders will also receive complimentary admission to a screening of Braveheart, attended by members of the film’s cast.
