And now fashion fans have the chance to experience it for themselves after it was listed on rental site Airbnb.

In the film, family patriarch Aldo Gucci lives in a grand 16th-century palazzo, with generous gardens and extravagant interiors.
In reality, it’s called Villa Balbiano and is one of the largest private residences on the lake, boasting six bedroom suites and six bathrooms, as well as an outdoor swimming pool, and a private pier and boathouse.
The property listing reads: ‘Situated on the western shore of Lake Como, Villa Balbiano is an awe-inspiring Italian jewel, and we’re proud it will be featured in the most high-fashion film of the year, House of Gucci.

The palazzo once belonged to Cardinal Tolomeo Gallio, who built it at the end of the 16th century and used it as his main residence. A century later, it was enlarged and embellished by Cardinal Angelo Maria Durini.
House of Gucci – directed by Ridley Scott and also starring Adam Driver, Jared Leto, Jeremy Irons, Jack Huston, Salma Hayek and Al Pacino – is in cinemas in the US on November 24 and in the UK from November 26.
However, it hasn’t been well received by critics, with the Daily Mail’s Brian Viner describing it as ‘a muddle, confused in both narrative and tone’.
Booking opens on December 6 for a one-night stay in Villa Balbiano on March 30, 2022, at $1,128 (£844) per night.
