Barcelona broke out of the bottleneck in front of its submerged host, “Cornella”, the third division team, by beating it with two unanswered goals, in the meeting that brought them together on Thursday, in the 32nd round of the competition.
French winger Osman Dembele scored the Catalan team’s first goal, from a penalty kick, in the second minute of the first overtime period. Then the Danish striker Martin Braithwaite scored the second goal of the “Blaugrana” with the final whistle.
Dembele replaced the penalty kick that he missed in the 79th minute, and his Bosnian teammate Miralem Pjanic also missed a penalty kick in the 39th minute of the first half, and home goalkeeper Ramon Juan shone by brilliantly tackling the two kicks, in addition to saving his goal on more than one occasion.

Barcelona avoided thus the fate of its traditional rivals Real Madrid, who fell in front of the submerged “Alcoyano” team participating in the third division of Spanish football (1-2) after the extension, to deposit the King’s Cup from the 32nd round of the competition.
