Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said that talking in these circumstances about fighting corruption or justice is not possible without automated systems or the so-called electronic government.
During his visit today to the Electronic Citizen Service Center in Damascus, Al-Assad said: “In the difficult circumstance that we are living in today, we need electronic services more than normal conditions. We cannot talk about the issue of combating corruption, reducing waste, justice, and improving services. And improving a part of the living reality without automated systems we always call e-government.
He added that the launch of electronic services in this circumstance confirms that despite the migration of some qualified people from Syria, there are still competent cadres.
He said, “We must achieve for her the elements and the environment that makes her stay and work in the country so that these cadres are the tool for the development of Syria.”
The accounts of the Syrian presidency on social media stated that al-Assad interviewed the center’s staff, “which began to provide a large package of electronic services,” about the mechanism of work in it, and the method of providing electronic services, which are mainly based on requesting transactions via the Internet, and the citizen obtaining them from his home or place His work without the need to go to official departments to get it done.
