Germany recorded 13,733 new cases of coronavirus during the past 24 hours.
The data of the Robert Koch Institute for Infectious Diseases showed, today, Sunday, that the number of confirmed cases rose to two million and 659,516 cases.
The data also showed an increase in the number of reported deaths to 74,664, after 99 new deaths were recorded.
Officials warned of an “accelerating” increase in the number of coronavirus infections in Germany, at a time when Europe is preparing for a third wave of the spread of the epidemic.
And German Chancellor Angela Merkel suggested re-imposing the lockdown measures.
The German Minister of Health, Jens Young, indicated that Europe lacks the necessary number of vaccines to significantly reduce infections.
