The Trades Training Center seeks the training of microenterprise personnel: Canacope Monterrey

Monterrey, NL. La National Chamber of Commerce in Small (Canacope) Monterrey, signed a collaboration agreement with the Training Center for Work (Cecati) 92, for the creation of the Training Center for Trades and Professions (CEOP), which will contribute to the entrepreneurship and training of skilled labor.

The goal is to increase educational level rates by 15% and for 200 people to graduate every three months, with training, job training and entrepreneurship programs that contribute to improving the world of work in the short term, through scholarships.

Nuevo León has 135,482 economic units, of which 94.5% are microenterprises with 1 to 10 jobs, whose main branches are: groceries, retail food, and food and beverage repair.

However, the educational level of personnel employed in microenterprises in Nuevo León is:

• With higher education 17%, of 22,885 businesses
• With upper secondary education, 31.6% of 40,628 businesses
• With basic education 48.1% of 61,843 businesses
• Without instruction only 2.1% of 2,700 businesses

Of the total personnel, 37.2%, or 47,829 are employees and 80,743 are owners of micro-enterprises, data from Canacope Monterrey indicate.

Catalina Domínguez, director of Canacope Monterrey, highlighted that educational level indices could be increased through regular courses that will provide students with essential theoretical-practical knowledge for their incorporation into the workplace, as well as creating a scholarship system that encourages the training.

At the Canacope Monterrey headquarters, some face-to-face courses will be held for trades such as barber, chocolate and nail art, which are in great demand in the state, said the board.

They also offer courses in jewelry, balloon art, piñatas, and online courses for nail art, jewelry, English, chocolate and barber, the courses start on October 31. The cost of registration is 100 pesos and 50 pesos per session.

Catalina Domínguez assured that the general public can attend, in addition to the members of the Chamber.

For his part, Jesús Guadalupe Castañeda, director of Cecati 92, pointed out that they make tailored suits according to the needs of the companies.

In Cecati 92, more specialized courses are held, such as welding, refrigeration and mechatronics, and laying of floors, these courses cost 800 pesos, with everything and material and in the case of welders they obtain a certification.
