Gaza is present

At the opening session, the organizers also showed a video clip about the suffering of Palestinian children during the war, to highlight the extent of pain and destruction in the Strip.
Media gangs
In his speech at the opening of the forum, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan asked, “Where are the famous Western newspapers regarding what is happening in Gaza?” He considered that what he described as “global media gangs” condone the brutality against the people of Gaza, and are trying to give legitimacy to committing massacres against journalists. Under the pretext that they are from the Islamic Resistance Movement (agitation).
He pointed out that Israel did not only kill women and children, but also killed media professionals, pointing out that more than 70 media professionals were killed in the Gaza Strip, which has been subjected to a devastating Israeli war for more than two months.
Erdogan stressed that “directed media poses a threat to people’s awareness, as well as a threat to democracy.”
He added, “I appeal to the media to act based on reason, conscience, and conscience, not lies and fallacies.”
He stressed that the press, especially the free press that does not rent its pen and screen to global powers, has become an indispensable need for democracies.
Erdogan pointed out that “neither the Holocaust nor the rejection of anti-Semitism justify silence about Israeli crimes.”
He concluded, “If we cannot prevent Israel’s brutality, no one anywhere in the world will feel safe.”
Misinformation campaigns
For his part, the head of the Communications Department of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey, Fakhruddin Altun, said that the media has turned “in the era of the unknown in which we live” into an essential element in international politics and an important factor in national security.
Altun stressed that Turkey did not surrender to what he described as “misinformation campaigns” during the past ten years, but rather sent strong messages to the international media and public opinion.
Alton touched on the developments in Gaza, saying, “Thank God we exposed hundreds of Israel’s lies at the national and international levels, and instead provided the real information.”
