The administration of US President Donald Trump has officially notified Congress that it intends to sell 7,500 precision-guided bombs to Saudi Arabia.
The “Washington Post” newspaper reported that the deal is estimated at 478 million dollars, indicating that it is likely to arouse criticism from lawmakers who object to arming the Saudi state because of what they describe as human rights violations and its role in the Yemen war.
The newspaper quoted a source familiar with the sale, speaking on condition of anonymity, that the deal includes 7,500 “Paveway IV” precision-guided bombs, which according to the agreement will be produced in Saudi Arabia.
