Ankara, Dec 1 (.) .- The Turkish lira soared 10% in value against the euro and the dollar on Wednesday immediately after the Central Bank of Turkey announced that it is intervening in the foreign exchange market through sales to influence in the exchange value of the national currency.
“Due to the unhealthy evolution of currency exchange that is observed, a direct intervention has been carried out in the markets through sales”, indicates the issuing entity in a brief message published on its website.
