Emirati and Israeli officials announced that two companies signed the first agreement between the two countries in the field of renewable energy.
The agreement was signed on the Emirati side by the Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, “Masdar”, while on the Israeli side, it was signed by the “EDF Renewables”, a subsidiary of the French electric giant, “ODF”.
For his part, Israeli Energy Minister Yuval Steinz wrote on Twitter: “These are the first fruits of the Abraham agreements in the energy sector,” expecting that cooperation will allow his country to become within 6 years a world leader in the field of solar energy.

In turn, the CEO of the Emirati “Masdar” company, Mohammed Jamil Al-Ramahi, welcomed a “new era of cooperation” in the field of clean energy between the two countries.
The agreement falls within the framework of a set of commercial ties to be established between the two sides following their signing in September an agreement to normalize relations under the auspices of the United States, within the context of agreements to normalize Arab countries’ relations with Israel, termed the “Abraham” agreements.
