The Umpire at Home Plate Unexpectedly Leaves Mid-Inning

As the Cubs were rallying in the top of the third inning, home plate umpire Brian O’Nora left the field. As in, he turned toward the Rockies’ dugout, and jogged off the field and down into their clubhouse. Everyone was kind of baffled by what was happening, and I don’t really have much more info yet to share. I’ve not see anything like that before.

The umpires had to huddle up and figure out how to resume the game, with someone else behind the plate. Or maybe he’ll come back? You just hope O’Nora is OK. It’s bizarre.
