In a statement, the US diplomatic mission in Saudi Arabia advised its citizens to take precautionary measures and exercise caution, in light of reports of possible missile attacks and explosions in Dhahran, Dammam and Al-Khobar in the Eastern Province.
The Houthis in Yemen announced that they launched a large-scale attack on the “Saudi rear,” where they launched 14 drones and 8 ballistic missiles towards Saudi Arabia targeting Aramco facilities in Ras Tanura and military targets in Dammam, Asir and Jizan.
Reuters reported, according to local civil sources, that an explosion was heard in Dhahran, which is inhabited by 6 thousand Americans, in eastern Saudi Arabia.
Dhahran, located in the eastern region, is considered an important administrative center in the field of oil production and refining in Saudi Arabia. The city hosts headquarters for Aramco, in addition to an American base.
Most of the kingdom’s oil production comes from the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, and it has Aramco’s export facilities.
