Ibrahim Kalin, a spokesman for the Turkish President, said that the United States has prevented the supply of 30 Turkish-made ATAK attack helicopters to Pakistan.
Commenting on the US sanctions due to Ankara’s purchase of Russian S-400 missiles, Kalin added that Pakistan’s purchase of Turkish helicopters is now likely to go to China.
A spokesman for the Turkish military industries had stated that Turkey and Pakistan signed a contract in July 2018 regarding the supply of 30 Turkish “ATAK” helicopters, indicating that this deal is the largest contract in Turkey’s history in the field of arms exports, and the value of the deal is estimated at about $ 1.5 billion.
