Atlanta, USA (CNN) – The US House of Representatives voted Saturday morning to approve a $ 1.9 trillion aid package to address the economic damage caused by the Corona pandemic, in the first major legislative step for the new US administration.
The vote came 219-212, as two Democrats voted against the draft resolution, without any Republican deputy voting in favor of it, provided that the vote will go to the Senate after that.
The aid package passed by the US Senate includes direct aid to small projects through direct checks to Americans in the amount of $ 1,400, increased tax credits for children, direct funding to state and local governments, funding for schools and the distribution of vaccines.
It was expected that the vote on this bill would be based on party affiliation, as Republicans called on their representatives to vote against the bill.
