US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo discussed with his Qatari counterpart, Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, in a phone call, a number of files, including the latest developments in the Gulf crisis.
According to the Qatar News Agency, during the call, the two ministers reviewed bilateral cooperation relations, developments in the Gulf crisis, developments in the region, especially the situation in Iraq, in addition to issues of common concern.
This call comes days before the 41st Gulf summit scheduled in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, on January 5th.
The administration of US President Donald Trump has intensified its efforts in recent weeks with the aim of reaching an agreement that ends the Gulf crisis that has been going on for more than 3 and a half years.
