The American Football Association announced that it will open an independent investigation into the incidents of sexual abuse denounced by two players.
The federation confirmed in an official statement that it will open an “urgent” investigation into the accusations of sexual coercion and misconduct made by two ex-players against Paul Riley, whose coaching license has been suspended and suspended from working with his team, North Carolina Courage.
Although the local league is no longer affiliated with the Football Association since last season, it was the Federation that established the competition in 2013 and continued to supervise it until 2020, which means that it is responsible for a large period of those violations in which these violations took place.
The federation also stated that it continues to financially support the NFL and many of the US women’s national team players, so the federation must do everything in its power to reveal the events.
The Women’s National Football League in the United States had announced that the judicial authorities in the International Federation (FIFA) had already opened an investigation into the sexual scandal, the dimensions of which were revealed, involving a coach, and caused the cancellation of matches scheduled for the beginning of this week.
FIFA does not interfere in the internal problems of any of its member associations, but the National Women’s Football Association in the United States considered that the International Federation’s handling of this matter would be of great benefit when all the dimensions of what happened were revealed.
