A European diplomatic source confirmed that the new US envoy to Iran, Robert Malley, spoke with prominent officials from Britain, France and Germany to assess what surrounds the nuclear agreement with Iran.
He said, “Mali is trying to find out the opinion of the parties participating in the nuclear agreement signed with Iran in 2015 and their assessment of Tehran’s commitment to the agreement.”
“It’s about trying to get familiar with the file and assess what we think about it,” he added.
It is noteworthy that Mali was working in the US National Security Council between February 2014 and January 2017, and he was one of the most senior US negotiators on the Iranian nuclear program in 2015.
