The US State Department has appointed the Academy of Iranian descent, Aryn Tabatabai, as Senior Adviser to the US Deputy Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security.
Tabatabai announced in a tweet on “Twitter” that she had been appointed to this position and expressed her satisfaction at joining the administration of US President Joe Biden and his deputy Kamala Harris.

The Iranian Radio Farda website reported that Tabatabai is a political researcher at the American RAND Institute, group director and a professor of security studies at Georgetown University in Washington, DC.
She is also a Senior Research Fellow at Columbia University’s School of Public Relations and International Affairs (SIPA), a member of the Truman National Security Project, and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR).
Tabatabai has a PhD in War Studies from King’s College in the British capital, and she is the daughter of Jawad Tabatabai, a professor at the University of Tehran and a researcher in the fields of philosophy, history and politics.
