The American state of Alaska has become one of the most successful US states in vaccinating its residents against the Corona virus, after it announced the start of the vaccination of all people over 16 years of age without exception.
Republican Gov. Mike Dunlevi announced the new rules for his state, which has a population of about 730,000, and more than a quarter of Alaska’s population has received the first dose of a vaccine, according to data from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Officials said certain areas in Alaska are nearing a 90% vaccination rate among the elderly, while many states are struggling to meet the high demand for vaccines and some states are still restricting vaccinations to adults 65 and over.
It is noteworthy that the United States agreed to use the vaccines developed by “Moderna” and “Johnson & Johnson” only for people aged 18 years and over, but younger Alaskans can receive the “Fires” vaccine.
