The use of face masks will be optional in Nuevo León

Monterrey, NL. El Health Safety Committee of Nuevo León approved the optional use of face masks in closed spaces. However, its mandatory use is maintained in basic education schools, nurseries, children’s day care centers, hospitals, medical offices, pharmacies, nursing homes and public transport.

The state health authorities mentioned that at the beginning of the winter season these viruses had an increase that kept the health sector on alert, mainly influenza, which presented the highest number of cases after 2009, exceeding 1,000 cases.

The measure was approved by the members of the Committee, which is made up of specialists from public and private institutions.

The Ministry of Health together with the Committee will continue to monitor the epidemiological panorama and issue the measures to follow.
