Football fans are waiting with patience for the upcoming match between Egypt’s Al-Ahly, the African champion, and Bayern Munich, the European champion, on Monday, in the semi-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup.
The Bavarian giant sent a message to Al-Ahly before the expected signing between them in Qatar, through his official Twitter account, in which he said: “The words of adults … wait for us” with a picture that brings together the stars of the two teams.
“The presence of Al-Ahly in the competition means that it is a strong team, but it does not matter how good they are, we have to be better and fight for this victory,” said Polish star Robert Lewandowski, the German team’s top scorer, in statements to the official website of FIFA.
He added, “We must press from the first minute to show our best skills, to present our best football and thus have the opportunity to beat them.”
Lewandowski continued: “We are ready to try to win the next title. We have won everything we could have won in 2020, and this is the last title we can win.”
“We know that we are playing against the best teams from continents around the world,” he said. “This is the next challenge and we are ready for it.”
Bayern Munich and Al-Ahly entered into a “skirmish” and “war of tweets” on the “Twitter” site, before their expected confrontation in the golden square of the FIFA Clubs World Cup.
The German team published a “tweet” after Al-Ahly’s victory over Al-Duhail, Qatar, in the second round of the tournament, stating: “Bayern will face Al-Ahly in the semi-finals of the Club World Cup! .. The six-party is waiting for us guys.”
And the Bayern account announced in another post about the date of the match, writing: “Our date is Monday 8-2.”
The last tweet sparked widespread controversy, as some Al-Ahly fans interpreted it as saying that Bayern promised their team to suffer a terrible defeat similar to Barcelona, who suffered a humiliating loss at the hands of the Bavarian giants (2-8), in the quarter-finals of the Champions League last season.
Al-Ahly club quickly responded to Bayern’s “tweet”, writing: “Al-Ahly Eagles is ready.”
The winner from the Al-Ahly and Bayern meeting will qualify for the World Cup final, to face the winner of the second semi-final match, which will bring together Tigres of Mexico and Brazilian Palmeiras.
