The World Health Organization has advised pregnant women not to receive the “Moderna” vaccine against the emerging corona virus, unless they are health care workers or suffer from previous medical conditions.
The organization said on its website: “While pregnancy exposes women to a greater risk of contracting Covid 19, the use of this vaccine in pregnant women is not currently recommended, unless they are at high risk of exposure to the virus (such as health care workers).”
According to the organization, the “Moderna” vaccine needs more data and clinical trials on pregnant women before the World Health Organization can recommend it to this group.
And Kitty O’Brien, an official at the organization, noted that “there is no reason to believe that there is a possibility of a problem during pregnancy, we are only saying that the data is not available at the moment.”
It is reported that the World Health Organization did not recommend pregnant women not to receive the “Pfizer” vaccine due to the availability of sufficient data.
