Yemeni Foreign Minister Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak discussed via video communication technology with Russia’s ambassador to Yemen, Vladimir Didushkin, the position of the international community on the Houthis targeting Aden airport.
Bin Mubarak assured the Russian ambassador that “the results of the investigations reached by the committee in charge of investigating the crime of targeting Aden International Airport during the government’s arrival, unequivocally proved that the terrorist Houthi militia carried out that attack.”
He pointed out that “this attack calls for a serious and resolute stance by the UN Security Council and condemning the perpetrators and holding them responsible for the consequences of that cowardly targeting of a civilian airport that is overflowing with travelers and recipients of loss of life and bloodshed without any regard for morals, values and humanitarian principles.”
Bin Mubarak expressed his confidence that “the position of the Russian friends will be united with the rest of the Security Council members in rejecting and condemning this terrorist act and taking measures to punish the perpetrators.”
For his part, the Russian ambassador affirmed “the depth of the Yemeni-Russian relations and the ties of friendship between the Yemeni and Russian peoples,” reiterating Russia’s support for “security, stability and unity of Yemen.”
