(Trends Wide Spanish) — On the night of this Saturday, January 21, one of the deadliest shootings in California history occurred, after a 72-year-old man shot repeatedly at a dance studio located in Monterey Park.
The attacker, identified as Huu Can Tran, killed 10 people and injured 10 others in what was the 33rd armed attack so far this year in the United States, according to the Gun Violence Archive, which, like Trends Wide defines a mass shooting as one in which four or more people are shot, excluding the shooter.
Can Tran was discovered dead this Sunday morning in the nearby city of Torrance, after the attacker shot himself when the police approached his vehicle.
The authorities have given information this Monday and the identity of two of the fatalities of this tragic event is now known.

Who are the victims of the mass shooting in Monterey Park, California?
According to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office, all 10 fatalities were over the age of 50 and none were over the age of 80.
Five of the deceased were women and the rest were men.
So far, this authority has fully identified two of the 10 fatalities:
- My Nhan, female – Born on August 15, 1957 (age 65)
- Lilan Li, female – Born on November 23, 1959 (63 years old)
Of the eight remaining deceased people, the following information is available:
- Four (two men and two women) are between 60-69 years old
- Three (all men) are between 70-79 years old
- And one more (woman) is between 50-59 years old.
