The Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, said that he discussed with Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi the importance of resolving conflicts in the region through dialogue and peacefully.
Sheikh Tamim affirmed the agreement with the Iranian side to respect the sovereignty of countries and not to interfere in their internal affairs.
“We are pushing all parties forward, in order to reach a fair agreement for all in the Vienna nuclear negotiations,” he added.
“We discussed regional files, especially Palestine, Yemen, Syria and Iraq,” the Emir of Qatar said. “We discussed the importance of resolving conflicts in the region through dialogue and in a peaceful manner.”
For his part, the Iranian president said that he discussed with the Emir of Qatar regional issues, stressing that the challenges facing the region can be resolved away from Western intervention.
He added that the visit of the Emir of Qatar to Tehran is a turning point for the development of bilateral relations and cooperation at the regional and international levels.
According to the Qatar News Agency, a session of official talks was held at the Republican Palace in Tehran on Thursday, during which they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries in the political, economic and commercial fields, in addition to enhancing prospects for bilateral cooperation in the sectors of tourism, investment, transport and communications.
The Iranian president visited Doha last February, and participated in the sixth summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum, which was held in the Qatari capital.
On the sidelines of the summit, Sheikh Tamim and the Iranian President held a bilateral meeting in which they discussed the most prominent developments at the regional and international levels, as well as the current developments in the region.
During the visit, a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding were signed between the governments of the two countries, covering many political and diplomatic fields and cooperation in the economic, cultural and artistic fields.
Dialogue without interference
For his part, on Thursday, Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, spoke during his meeting with the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, that dialogue without the interference of external forces is the way to resolve the region’s files.
According to Al-Jazeera correspondent, Khamenei said that resolving the region’s files is in the hands of its countries, and that the issues of Yemen and Syria can be resolved through dialogue, explaining, “We expect the Arab world to intervene clearly to confront Israeli crimes.”
Khamenei criticized Israel, and said that “the Zionist entity, wherever it is resolved, corruption and cannot grant power to any country,” noting that “the Israeli occupation entity is not in a position to intimidate Arab countries.”

Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani confirmed to Al Jazeera that the visit to Tehran comes at an important stage, as bilateral relations between the two countries were discussed extensively.
The Qatari minister revealed that the talks focused on how to establish stability in the region and enter into a regional dialogue, explaining that the tensions and atmosphere that rule the world lead to entering into direct dialogues with neighboring countries to resolve differences and dispel fears.
He said, “The nuclear negotiations are going through a critical stage, and we affirmed our supportive position to move forward in achieving the agreement.”
And the Qatari foreign minister indicated to Al Jazeera that Iran “is a neighbor of ours that is affected and influenced, and it is our duty to provide advice, communicate with it, and urge it to engage in a positive dialogue.”
He called on all parties in the nuclear negotiations to show flexibility to reach a solution in the interest of the region, and said, “We believe that the pivotal factor is the regional dialogue and the nuclear agreement is a supportive factor for achieving this stability.”
