They highlight budget increase for Michoacán

Due to the fact that local collection has improved and that greater agreements have been made with the Federation, since 2021 Michoacán has managed to increase its income within its Economic Packages, state authorities assured.

In a press conference, the Secretary of Finance and State Administration, Luis Navarro García, explained that an upward trend in budgetary resources has been maintained, for example, during 2021 the entity achieved an amount of income of 68,661 million pesos, for the 2022 they were 81,546 million and for 2023 91,167 million are projected.

Precisely, he assured, the 2023 Budget authorized by the State Congress registers an increase of 12% in relation to that of 2022, in addition, since this year there has not been a budget deficit, as well as financial indebtedness.

“In 2021 there were 68,661 million pesos, it was when in that year a budget was approved with a deficit slightly exceeding 7,000 million, in 2022, when it was our turn (the administration of Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla), there are 81,545 million and by 2023 there are 91,167 million”, he reiterated.

For his part, Governor Ramírez Bedolla pointed out that by 2023 the entity would have an Expenditure Budget of almost 100,000 million pesos, this after the 9,000 million of the new Public Works Program are added to the 91,167 million. YoY.

“Of course, the support of the Federation is seen and felt, in the end it is a more robust, more powerful, stronger budget compared to 2021 (…) Thanks to the orderly and transparent work that has been carried out since the Ministry of Finance and Administration, it has been possible to conclude the year 2022 without a budget deficit and complying with the dispersion of resources for the other two powers and the municipalities, a trend that will undeniably be applied during 2023”, he added.

Works, priority

Bedolla assured that the Interannual Public Works Program also means that it is the largest infrastructure package applied in the last four decades, it focuses on road, hydraulic and mobility projects.

“It is effective and is aimed at strengthening, above all, the infrastructure of the state,” the governor reiterated.

Among the most important projects, he specified that there is the reconstruction of 1,292 kilometers of primary highway, the cable car in Uruapan that seeks to benefit more than 30 neighborhoods, the metrobus for Morelia with two connection lines (Villas del Pedregal to the Center and Ciudad Salud to the Center), as well as the second peripheral ring with 87.9 kilometers and the road distributor of the Mercado de Abastos in Morelia.

“There is the construction of a central gap on the Parácuaro-Tepalcatepec highway and the Jiquilpan-Sahuayo boulevard of 3.7 kilometers. Hydraulic infrastructure is also contemplated for the rescue of the Duero River Basin that will benefit 10 municipalities with the installation of water treatment plants so that 20 wells stop subtracting water from the groundwater table and it is used for agricultural irrigation; and the piping of treated water from Atapaneo benefiting irrigation modules from Morelia and Queréndaro”, he added.

The leader of the Michoacan Executive said that the multi-year works scheme does not represent the acquisition of a new debt, since it considers the participation of the private sector.

On this, he commented that the contractor companies will be responsible for obtaining the financing and the projects must be completed within a period of no more than 18 months.
