The International Federation of Football History and Statistics “iffhs” has published its list of top scorers in the past three decades of the 21st century (2001-2020).
Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo topped the list with 756 goals, followed by his Argentine rival Lionel Messi, who scored 715 goals with Barcelona and his country.
The veteran striker of Milan, Sweden, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, ranked third with 543 goals, while Atletico Madrid and Uruguay national team scorer Luis Suarez finished fourth with 489 goals, followed by Bayern Munich’s star, Robert Lewandowski, who scored 473 goals.
Syrian Firas Al-Khatib ranked first in the Arab world and 19th in the world in the list of best scorers in the 21st century, with 344 goals, followed by Kuwaiti football legend, Bader Al-Mutawa, ranked second in the Arab world and 27 in the world, scoring 322 goals during his football career.
Here is a list of the top 10 goalscorers of the 21st century:
1- Cristiano Ronaldo of Portugal – 756 goals
2- Lionel Messi, Argentina – 715 goals
3- The Swedish Zlatan Ibrahimovic – 543 goals
4- The Uruguayan Luis Suarez – 489 goals
5- Robert Lewandowski – 473 goals
6- Ali Al Shafaq from the Maldives – 465 goals
7- Sergio Aguero – 421 goals
8- Cameroonian Samuel Eto’o – 409 goals
9- Uruguayan Edinson Cavani – 408 goals
10- Singaporean Alexander Dorish – 408 goals
Then comes the sequence:
19- Syrian Firas Al-Khatib – 344 goals
27 – Kuwaiti Badr Al-Mutawa – 322 goals.
It should be noted that a group of players on the list scored other goals at the beginning of the year 2021, but they were not added to their records given that the statistics included only goals scored between 2001 and 2020.
