They recognize the Operators that obtained the best performance in 2022

This afternoon, the W hotel in Mexico City will be the meeting point for the main Investment Fund Operators, investors and analysts who will find out who the winners of the Morningstar Awards 2023.

This year, 9 awards will be given, 3 for the Best Investment Fund Operators and 6 for the Best Investment Funds in the country, in the following categories: Best Mixed Fund, Best Global Variable Income Fund, Best Long-Term Debt Fund, Best Medium-Term Debt Fund, Best Mexico Variable Income Fund and Best Short-Term Debt Fund.

During the ceremony, the presence of Alejandro Ritch, who is the regional director of Latin America of Morningstar, as well as the Editorial Director of The EconomistLuis Miguel González.

It should be noted that these prizes are awarded to funds with the best risk-adjusted return within their respective Morningstar categories, as well as the Operators that had an outstanding performance above their competitors.

Requirements

The methodology for choosing the best funds remains intact, among which relevant points they find each other:

1. must submit strong risk-adjusted returns within the award-winning categories, both in 2021 and in the last three years.
2. To prevent the performance obtained in a particular period from unduly affecting the overall result, Morningstar also requires that the fund has achieved a result above its competitors in at least two of the last three years.

As for the criteria to participate in the Best Operator award are:

• Morningstar Award for Best Debt Operator. Those operators that have at least 3 debt funds with a 3-year rating available for sale in Mexico participate in this award.
• Morningstar Award for Best Variable Income Operator. Those operators that have at least 3 variable income funds with a 3-year rating available for sale in Mexico have participated in this award.
• Morningstar Award for Best Global Operator. Those that have at least 3 equity funds and 3 debt funds with a 3-year rating available for sale in Mexico participate.

For this 2023 edition, Alejandro Ritch pointed out that great surprises are expected since we will be able to see new winners in the different categories.
