(Trends Wide) — A suspected shooting suspect is in custody after Oakland County, Michigan police responded to an “active attacker” alert at Oxford High School. Police said “there are several victims” but no fatalities at this time.
The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said they have an alleged attacker and a pistol in custody, adding: “We do not believe there are any others at this time,” according to the statement relayed by Deputy Sheriff Tyler Sweers.
Authorities say there are between four and six victims, but “there are no confirmed fatalities from shooting at this time.”
It is an active scene as police are conducting a secondary search of the school for more victims, they said.
All the students were evacuated and will be relocated to a nearby store to reunite with their families.
Oxford High School is approximately 45 miles from Detroit.
