(Trends Wide) — The United States Secret Service (USSS) reported a shooting in which police officers shot an intruder near the residence of the Peruvian embassy in Washington on Wednesday morning.
“Officer-Involved Shooting. Following a confrontation, uniformed division officers shot a reported intruder at a residence in the 3000 block of Garrison Street NW shortly before 08:00. Public information officers en route to the scene . No injuries reported among officers,” USSS communications chief Anthony Guglielmi said in a tweet.

The Washington Metropolitan Police Department also indicated that it is responding to the scene and that a briefing with the media will be held soon at the scene. The exact timing of the briefing is not yet known.
