The Secretary of the Interior, Adán Augusto López Hernández, went to the Chamber of Senators to lobby the issues that interest the federal Executive to materialize during the current period of ordinary sessions that will end on April 30, among others the new Law for the Protection of Mexican Air Space already approved by the Chamber of Deputies.
“We reviewed the agenda of pending issues; among others, obviously, the new Air Space Law. The Single Code of Civil Procedures, which interests us, the Care Law, the Radio Law, even ‘plan B’ (for electoral reform)”, reported Ricardo Monreal.
In an interview at the end of his private meeting with the head of domestic policy, the president of the Political Coordination Board (JCP) of the Upper House and coordinator of the parliamentary group of the National Regeneration Movement (Morena) party explained that it is in the interest of the Executive federal the issuance of said law.
“About the draft of the air issue, what did they agree on?” the morenista was asked.
“They have an interest and we are going to send it to commissions, and the commissions will decide.
“It is a new law, of the Air Space, and it seems to me that we have to listen with all seriousness to the impacts of this law; but the Executive is interested, since it is their initiative and we are going to review it carefully, ”he replied.
Regarding the possibility of making eventual changes to the aforementioned minutes, he explained that they could be made, but he avoided going into details about it; “I do not want to get ahead of myself, but rather that the ruling commissions determine what is appropriate.”
He added that he is not concerned, as established by the new law in the making, that it is the Ministry of National Defense (Sedena) and not the Ministry of Communications and Transportation (SCT) that coordinates the surveillance and protection of Mexican airspace.
I respect
Monreal Ávila denied that there is an interest of the federal government, as rumored, in delaying in the Senate the approval of the reforms to the secondary legislation on electoral matters, the so-called “plan B”.
He assured that the Secretary of the Interior confirmed that the federal Executive will respect what Congress decides regarding the electoral amendment.
