They still have one loyal customer! NBA legend Charles Barkley brands Bud Light critics ‘rednecks’ and ‘a*****s’ amid Dylan Mulvaney backlash as he defends the brand at Lake Tahoe celebrity golf tournament
- Charles Barkley said Bud Light boycotters were ‘rednecks’ and ‘a**holes’
- His remakes came in Lake Tahoe as he competed in a celebrity golf tournament
NBA legend Charles Barkley has defended Bud Light after its partnership with trans influencer Dylan Mulvaney and labeled those boycotting the brand ‘rednecks’.
His comments were captured across several nights this weekend at a bar in Lake Tahoe, California, where he had been playing in a celebrity golf tournament.
Barkley was filmed announcing proudly over a microphone that he had bought cases of Bud Light for the patrons.
‘I got three cases of Bud Light,’ he told the audience, adding: ‘If you’re gay, bless you. If you’re trans, bless you. If you have a problem with that, f**k you!’

On another night Barkley was again filmed addressing the crowd and doubling down on his stance.
‘Hey, lemme tell you something. All you rednecks or a**holes who don’t want to drink Bud Light, f*** y’all,’ Barkley told the crowd.
‘I ain’t worried about getting canceled because lemme tell you something, if y’all fire me and gimme all that money, I’m gonna be playing golf every f**king day,’ he said.
‘So listen, as I said last night, if you’re gay, God bless you. If you’re trans, God bless you. And if you have a problem with them, f**k you,’ he said.
He made very similar comments during the same tournament in Lake Tahoe last year.
‘I want to say this, if you’re gay or transgender, I love you,’ he said in 2022.
He then paused before adding: ‘Hey, and if anybody gives you shit, you tell them Charles said, ‘F*** you!”
His stance in favor of LGBT groups goes back even further. In 2006 he told Fox Sports hat he’s a ‘big advocate of gay marriage’.
Barkley was in Lake Tahoe because he is competing in the American Century Celebrity Golf Championship Tournament
Stephen Curry of the NBA Golden State Warriors holds his trophy after winning the 2023 American Century Championship at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course on Sunday
In he told 106.7 The Fan in Washington: ‘First of all, society discriminates against gay people. They always try to make it like jocks discriminate against gay people.
‘I’ve been a big proponent of gay marriage for a long time, because as a black person, I can’t be in for any form of discrimination at all.’
Barkley was in Lake Tahoe because he is competing in the American Century Celebrity Golf Championship Tournament, which was won this year by fellow basketball player Stephen Curry.
The Golden State Warriors player scored a hole-in-one on Saturday and topped that with an eagle on the par-5 18th hole at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course.
‘I don’t do this for a living, so it’s something you dream about,’ Curry told ESPN.
‘I’ve been playing in this tournament for almost a decade and now I’ve got some hardware to show for it. It’s pretty special.’
