(CNN) — Robert De Niro seems excited about having his friend and former co-star Al Pacino join the club of older dads.
De Niro, 79, welcomed his daughter Gia, who he gave birth to with his girlfriend Tiffany Chen in April.
During a press conference Wednesday for his Tribeca Film Festival, De Niro was asked about the news that Pacino, 83, will become a father again with Noor Alfallah, 29.
“What a guy,” De Niro said, according to People. “Come on Al, God bless you.”
But it seems that De Niro misinterpreted the question, as the next day, during an appearance on the “Today” show, the actor seemed to believe that Baby Pacino had already arrived.
“Listen, Al Pacino just had a baby, they told me yesterday morning,” De Niro said. “He’s a few years older than me. God bless him. I’m so happy for him.”
There is no indication that the baby was born.
De Niro and Pacino have starred in several projects together over the years, including “The Godfather II,” “Heat” and “The Irishman.”
