Washington Wizards center Thomas Bryant is in the final stages of a rehab that began nine months ago. The player seriously injured the cruciate ligament in his left knee in mid-January and has not worn shorts since.
In an interview for NBC Sports Washington, Bryant acknowledged that the long recovery he has had to face has changed his life. “It has been very difficult because it is like the only love you have in your life,” said the center. “It’s the only thing that has always been there, always intact, that you know you can always go to. And when they take it away, it is very difficult. It’s almost depressing in a way. “
The latest reports indicate that the player will return to the slopes throughout December, which would mean missing up to a maximum of two months of the 2021-22 course. Thus, Bryant has been optimistic about the proximity of his reappearance. “When you are mentally strong and you work with yourself to strengthen your head, the days become a little more bearable.”
The Washington Wizards will start the season on October 21 at the home of the Toronto Raptors. A campaign that the citizens of the capital will face with a great dose of optimism and many new faces.
