Tehran- The advisor in the Iranian delegation to the Vienna negotiations, Muhammad Marandi, revealed that despite the escalation of talk about the receding of differences and reaching a decisive stage, there are still unresolved differences, and that talking about the negotiations reaching their final stages is ahead of its time.
Marandi indicated – in his speech to Al-Jazeera Net – that the negotiations are progressing in full swing in order to reach satisfactory solutions on the thorny issues, adding that he does not rule out that the negotiations will reach difficult junctures that may impede their reaching the desired results.
He noted that Tehran is seeking to make the ongoing negotiations in Vienna a success, but this requires a serious will on the part of the Western side, according to him.
Marandi concluded his speech by saying that the results of the negotiations do not satisfy Iran, which insists on the full implementation of the nuclear agreement and the need to lift all sanctions at once, stressing that the main points of contention lie in the size of the sanctions that the United States must lift and verify that Western parties implement their obligations in any possible agreement. and obtain guarantees that it will be fully implemented.

On a related level, Abbas Aslani, a researcher at the Middle East Center for Strategic Studies, believes that the negotiating delegations in Vienna made remarkable progress in the last round regarding the dispute over the development of Iran’s nuclear program following the freezing of its commitments in the nuclear agreement.
Speaking to Al-Jazeera Net, Aslani described the negotiation path in the eighth round of the Vienna meetings as positive regarding the lifting of US sanctions, but the Iranian and Western parties did not reach a final consensus in this regard.
One of the other outstanding issues is how to implement the expected agreement. Aslani revealed the Iranian delegation’s rejection of the Western proposal for Washington and Tehran to simultaneously return to the nuclear agreement, stressing that Tehran believes that it is necessary for Washington to return first as the initiator of violating the agreement.
