Three subsectors concentrated 58% of manufacturing employment in Nuevo León: Caintra

Monterrey, NL. The industry continues to be pillar of the economy of Nuevo León and the main source of formal employment. Some of the subsectors that stood out for their contribution to new jobs during the first four months were: manufacturing of transportation equipment, basic metal, and manufacturing of electronic equipment, contributing 58% of manufacturing jobs.

In the first four months of the year, manufacturing generated 22,000 formal jobs, of this figure, transportation equipment manufacturing reported 5,800 jobs; the basic metal industry contributed 3,900 jobs; while the manufacture of electronic equipment added 3,300 jobs.

The accumulated of these three subsectors represents a quarter of the jobs that were added in the entire economy of Nuevo León, which has benefited thousands of Nuevo Leon families.

The subsectors that rebounded in the state represent activities related to foreign trade, “so we call on the authorities to keep the processes agile and simple.” logistics procedures and border crossings, as well as guaranteeing security on highways and railways to avoid robberies or extortions”.

“With this, we can make Nuevo León continue at the forefront in job creation in Mexico,” said the Chamber of the Transformation Industry of Nuevo León, in a statement.
