“Today” show meteorologist and co-host Dylan Dreyer has announced her separation from husband Brian Fichera after 12 years of marriage. The 43-year-old television personality shared the news with her followers in a heartfelt Instagram post.
Dreyer, who began her post by acknowledging how she has long shared her family life with the public, wrote, “For that reason, I want to share with you that a few months ago, Brian and I made the decision to separate.” She also expressed gratitude for the “support and love” she has received from her audience.
Despite the separation, Dreyer emphasized that the couple will remain “the closest of friends.” She stated their priority is to “continue to co-parent our three wonderful boys together with nothing but love and respect for one another.”
Dreyer and Fichera, 38, a freelance producer and cameraman, first met while working at Boston’s WHDH 7NEWS. They married in October 2012, the same year Dreyer joined NBC News. The couple shares three sons: Calvin, Oliver, and Rusty. While Fichera had been largely absent from Dreyer’s Instagram feed in 2024, she shared a family photo in a Father’s Day tribute to him on June 15.
The announcement comes during a challenging period for the hosts of the third hour of “Today.” In May, Dreyer’s co-host, Sheinelle Jones, lost her husband, Uche Ojeh, to an aggressive form of brain cancer at the age of 45. At the time, Dreyer posted a public message of support for Jones and her family.
