Today the opinion on “plan b” of the electoral reform is being discussed in the Senate

In strict compliance with the legislative procedure, the “plan b” of electoral reform will be submitted to the discussion and vote of the plenary session of the Chamber of Senators in today’s regular session, prior to the first reading procedure.

“I am working on it, I believe that the effort that we are developing internally, until the last moment, is to clean up the bill that the co-legislator sent us of what we consider to be errors or unconstitutionalities… Why wait for the federal Judiciary to amend the bill? , if from now on we can eliminate those norms created in an unconstitutional manner,” explained the senator from Zacatecas.

From his point of view, at least a third of the package of amendments to the secondary electoral legislation promoted by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador seems unconstitutional.

In response to the “social activist” Claudio X. González -“I am not a businessman”-, promoter of the opposition electoral alliance Va por México and who via Twitter and later in a press conference from the Senate demanded that he define if he is ” Democrat or ‘much ado about nothing”, Monreal Ávila limited himself to saying that he respects him “a lot” and that he is governed “by principles, not by pressure or any type of threat or announcement of promotions”.

“He has a marked interest (in defending the INE)… For my part, I have no disqualification for him or for those who have come to express themselves freely in the Mexican Senate.”

Finally, the morenista reported that he is negotiating with the coordinators of the parliamentary groups represented in the upper house to convene a period of extraordinary sessions in order to exclusively approve the appointments pending to be made.
