The Raptors have found the way. After a start to the campaign in which good and bad moments alternated, now they seem to have found that touch of consistency so necessary to settle in the top positions. With last night’s victory by an incontestable 129-104 against San Antonio, they add up to eight victories in their last 12 games to stay ninth in the Eastern Conference at 17-17.
If there was a proper name in the party, it was Fred VanVleet. The guard went up to 33 points to add his third consecutive meeting with at least 30. Under his baton the Raptors broke the game in the second quarter and ended up sentencing him at the beginning of the last, when they reached up to 30 points above. They literally found no rival in San Antonio.
“You recognize when you are in a good rhythm and you just try to hold out for as long as possible, because you know it won’t always be that way. I try to keep my floor a little higher. When you feel that heat, you have to be aggressive and hold out as long as you can, ”says VanVleet.
The truth is that the good time of the Canadians is having a more than interesting cast. Pascal Siakam is in tune and last night he signed a double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds to which he added five assists. Gary Trent Jr. continues to contribute points and against Texas he contributed 21. OG Anunoby did it all with 14 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. All is well for Toronto.
