The 23-year-old point guard had 30 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists; including a 9-for-20 shooting from the field and a remarkable 8-for-15 on 3-pointers.
“We are definitely going in the right direction,” Trae Young told the media. ESPN. “Right now it’s more about our consistency and knowing how to maintain it. But we are not satisfied. We know what to do and we know what we have to do,” he explained.
With his victory against those of North Carolina they sit 21-25 in the East, 10th in the standings, but still out of the Play-in spots. Nate McMillan’s men have straightened the course this last week after reaping five straight losses against the LA Lakers, LA Clippers, Miami Heat twice and New York Knicks.
Other highlights of the Hawks were forward De’Andre Hunter with 20 points; and they also added double scoring figures Kevin Huerter (11) and reserve Danilo Gallinari (10)
For his part, in the local team, Miles Bridges continues to make merits to win the MIP of the regular season, putting together another good game. His were 19 points and 6 rebounds with 8 of 13 shooting from the field, although he went blank from long distance (0 of 4 attempts).
His teammate LaMelo Ball seconded the attack with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 basket passes, although he registered a gray 6 of 17 attempts. It should be noted that the Hornets had a night to forget from the triple with just 11.1% success.

Hunter gives the scare
De’Andre Hunter caused a scare in the final stretch of the night when he suffered a strong blow to his shoulder when making a basket entry against Kelly Oubre Jr. The forward was lying on the ground for more than a minute; however, he was able to return to the match, although his coach McMillan did not rule out that he may have to rest for the next few days (they return to the field of play on Wednesday against the Sacramento Kings).
“They put ice on that part of the shoulder. But it’s still too soon to know if it’s worrying or not. He was able to move it a little bit later in the locker room,” McMillan explained.
De’Andre Hunter is averaging 12.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1 assist and 40% shooting from three-point range in 29.1 minutes per game this season.
