The truck production increased 53% last September compared to the same month in 2021, after heavy-duty manufacturing companies manufactured 18,895 vehicles, against 12,357 manufactured during the same month of the previous year, reported the National Association of Bus, Truck and Tractor Producers (ANPACT).
At a press conference, Miguel Elizalde, president of the ANPACT, explained that this rebound was due to the increase in truck exports, mainly to the United States, demanding 45% more than the previous year.
In September, the external sale of 15,604 units was registered, which compared to the 10,772 exported in the same month of 2021, represents a growth of 44.9%.
Of this amount, the Automotive industry heavy trucks exported 14,747 units to the US market, compared to 10,174 trucks shipped in September last year.
Also, exports to Canada increased 54.5%, by sending 380 units, followed by Colombia, which demanded 91% more Mexican trucks, and Peru, 460%.

But it still accumulates a 32.2% drop compared to the 2020 period.
