The general closure in Tunisia due to the Corona virus
The Tunisian Ministry of Health announced that it had recorded 91 deaths and 1,367 new cases of Coronavirus in the last 24 hours.
The Ministry stated in its daily report that the total number of deaths due to the virus in the country reached 6893, while the total number of infections is 211412.
Tunisian Health Minister Faouzi Mahdi said on Tuesday that Tunisia expects to receive 4 million free doses of anti-corona vaccines from the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI), as of mid-February.
This amount will be sufficient to vaccinate 2 million people in Tunisia, which has an estimated population of 11.5 million.
Regarding the sources of the Tunisian vaccines, the Russian Direct Investment Fund announced that Tunisia has become the third African country to approve the use of the Russian “Sputnik V” anti-virus vaccine.
On Saturday, the Tunisian Ministry of Health granted an exceptional and temporary one-year marketing license to the Tunisian market for the “Sputnik V” vaccine.
