The Tunisian presidency announced today, Wednesday, that the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, has responded to President Qais Saeed’s call not to implement the death sentence against the Tunisian citizen Fakhri Al-Andalus.
The presidential statement stated that the Qatari emir had agreed to “postpone the death sentence until May 1, 2021, provided that an alternative punishment be considered in the meantime.”
According to the statement, the Tunisian president then expressed his sincere thanks to his brother, His Highness Prince Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, for his deep humanity, which reflects the sincere brotherhood ties between the two brotherly peoples and between President Qais Saeed and his brother, His Highness the Emir of the State of Qatar.
The Tunisian “Nessma” channel said that Al-Andalusi is facing charges of committing a murder in the vicinity of a military barracks in Qatar.
