Fraekha submitted to the Russian authorities and space agencies a proposal to send a Tunisian astronaut, who would be the first in the Arab world and Africa in her space invasion, to land on the international station “ISS”.
This comes after Tunisian President Kais Saied, during his visit to the Talnat complex, on March 4, expressed his desire to send a Tunisian astronaut.
On Monday morning, the Russian “Soyuz” missile carried out the launch of the first Tunisian satellite named “One Challenge”, after the launch was postponed, which was scheduled for Saturday, March 20, coinciding with the 65th anniversary of Tunisia’s Independence Day.
Fraikha said that the launch of the first satellite in Tunisia is a first challenge, which will be followed by many other projects, noting that the aim is for “Tunisia to be a pole of space technology in the African continent.”
It concerns “one challenge” in the “Internet of Things”. For the first time in the world, it was based on the development of the “LoRa” protocol for use in communications across space, after its use was limited to terrestrial wireless communications in the context of Smart cities, industrial control and smart agriculture, and it is characterized by its low energy consumption.
