The Turkish Public Prosecution in Istanbul referred 34 suspects to justice on charges of international espionage for the Israeli foreign intelligence service Mossad.
Anatolia Agency reported that the Terrorism and Organized Crime Investigation Bureau had completed taking statements from the suspects over the past four days.
The suspects were also referred to the Palace of Justice in Istanbul after medical examinations were conducted, according to the same source.
Regarding the details of the operation, Anadolu said that as a result of investigations by both the Anti-Terrorism Division in Istanbul and Turkish intelligence, information was obtained indicating the Mossad’s intention to carry out activities such as surveillance, tracking, assault, and kidnapping against foreign nationals residing in Turkey for humanitarian reasons.
The agency added that the arrests came in the midst of a security operation in 8 states, as part of investigations launched by the Terrorism and Organized Crimes Office of the Istanbul Public Prosecution Office against 46 suspects.

The Turkish security authorities discovered that Mossad agents communicated with the suspects through social media accounts, according to the source.
On January 2, the security forces launched a simultaneous operation that included 57 addresses, in 15 districts in the states of Istanbul, Ankara, Kocaeli, Hatay, Mersin, Izmir, Van, and Diyarbakir.
During the operation, sums of money in various currencies, an unlicensed pistol, ammunition and digital equipment were confiscated.
