Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar downplayed the joint military maneuvers between Greece and Saudi Arabia, noting that it means nothing in front of Turkey’s military capabilities.

He said, “As usual, we respect international laws and dialogue, but unfortunately Greece continues to act in a threatening manner that is inconsistent with good neighborliness, increases tension and impedes the establishment of good neighborly relations.”
He continued, “We reject the attempts to portray the issue between Turkey and Greece as a disagreement between Turkey and the European Union or Turkey and the United States. They will not reach a conclusion from that.”
He added, “We hope that our Greek neighbors will give up their provocative positions as soon as possible, and we believe that this is important for the well-being of the region, Greece and its people, who suffer from difficult economic conditions while their government is still seeking more armaments.”
The “Eye of the Falcon 1” maneuver was launched between the Saudi armed forces and their Greek counterpart, and the Saudi Press Agency stated that within these exercises, the Saudi and Greek air forces will carry out sorties and joint exercises in the Mediterranean sky, and that the goal of the exercise is to “refine and develop the skills of the air crew and technical and raise readiness Our air force’s combat system, in addition to the exchange of military expertise in the field of implementing and planning air operations. “
